I worked on 3 recipes, peanut butter, molasses, and bacon and cheddar for months until I finally found the right ones. I had the lab in OKC do the testing, and I filled out all of the paperwork and jumped through all of the hoops to be a MIO company. I told myself if I didn't run into many obstacles it was the right thing to do. I prayed about it a lot, I didn't want to risk our family's financial well being if that was not what God wanted me to do. But he lead me down every pathway by the hand. Everyone I was in contact with was so nice and encouraging to me it made me feel like I was on the right path.
We took our treats and set up at the Tulsa State Fair in September and October 2011 as a trial run to see how we would do. We were in the Made In Oklahoma part of the building and met some wonderful people I am looking forward to seeing again next year and some that I am still in touch with now. We were a hit! We sold out 4 times! I had a friend baking for me and my husband was driving down everyday after work to deliver them to me. He really was a trooper through that 10 days. Thank you Babe.
